{"id":8686,"date":"2018-08-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-08-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medgoo.com\/index.php\/2018\/08\/02\/new-ebola-outbreak-in-congo\/"},"modified":"2018-08-03T16:06:44","modified_gmt":"2018-08-03T16:06:44","slug":"new-ebola-outbreak-in-congo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medgoo.com\/index.php\/2018\/08\/02\/new-ebola-outbreak-in-congo\/","title":{"rendered":"New Ebola Outbreak in Congo"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Currently, 26 suspected cases of Ebola, including 20 deaths<\/h3>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>THURSDAY, Aug. 2, 2018 (HealthDay News) &#8212; Just a week after being declared Ebola-free, the Democratic Republic of Congo said yesterday that a new outbreak of the deadly virus has killed at least 20 people.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities in North Kivu Province notified the country&#8217;s Health Ministry on Aug. 1 of 26 suspected cases of Ebola, including the 20 deaths, Health Minister Oly Ilunga Kalenga, M.D., Ph.D., said in a statement, <i>The New York Times<\/i> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Samples from the six survivors were tested this week, and four were positive for Ebola.<\/p>\n<p>This is the 10th time since 1976 that Ebola has threatened the Democratic Republic of Congo, <i>The Times<\/i> reported. The previous outbreak lasted a few months and killed at least 33 people.
