{"id":51428,"date":"2021-03-18T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-18T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medgoo.com\/index.php\/2021\/03\/18\/mothers-diet-in-pregnancy-tied-to-childrens-later-weight-gain\/"},"modified":"2021-03-19T17:10:54","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T17:10:54","slug":"mothers-diet-in-pregnancy-tied-to-childrens-later-weight-gain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medgoo.com\/index.php\/2021\/03\/18\/mothers-diet-in-pregnancy-tied-to-childrens-later-weight-gain\/","title":{"rendered":"Mothers&#8217; Diet in Pregnancy Tied to Children&#8217;s Later Weight Gain"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>\n<p>Pregnancy diet with higher inflammatory potential tied to accelerated body mass index trajectories in childhood<\/p>\n<\/h3>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>THURSDAY, March 18, 2021 (HealthDay News) &#8212; Certain maternal dietary patterns in pregnancy are associated with differences in child body mass index (BMI) trajectories from birth to adolescence, according to a study published online March 15 in the <em>American Journal of Clinical Nutrition<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Carmen Month \u00a9-Dr \u00a8ze, M.D., from Brigham and Women&#8217;s Hospital in Boston, and colleagues used data from Project Viva (1,459 mother-child dyads) to assess whether dietary patterns in pregnancy (Dietary Inflammatory Index [DII], Alternate Healthy Eating Index for Pregnancy [AHEI-P], and Mediterranean Diet Score) are associated with accelerated growth from birth to adolescence.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers found that children of women in the highest versus lowest DII quartile had higher BMI-z growth rates between 3 and 10 years and higher BMI z-scores from 7 through 10 years in adjusted models. Among children of women with low adherence to a Mediterranean diet, higher BMI z-scores were seen for 3 through 15 years of age.
