{"id":1876,"date":"2018-03-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-03-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/medgoo.com\/index.php\/2018\/03\/09\/warm-showers-perineal-exercises-can-ease-birth-pain\/"},"modified":"2018-03-12T15:08:43","modified_gmt":"2018-03-12T15:08:43","slug":"warm-showers-perineal-exercises-can-ease-birth-pain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/medgoo.com\/index.php\/2018\/03\/09\/warm-showers-perineal-exercises-can-ease-birth-pain\/","title":{"rendered":"Warm Showers, Perineal Exercises Can Ease Birth Pain"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Findings showed a decrease in pain, anxiety, and epinephrine release in women giving birth<\/h3>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>FRIDAY, March 9, 2018 (HealthDay News) &#8212; Warm showers and perineal exercises may be effective for reducing the pain associated with childbirth, according to a study published online March 7 in the <i>International Journal of Nursing Practice<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Angelita Jos\u00e9 Henrique, R.N., Ph.D., from Federal University of S\u00e3o Paulo in Brazil, and colleagues randomized 128 women during childbirth (June 2013 to February 2014) to receive warm shower hydrotherapy, perineal exercises with a ball, or a combination of the two interventions.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers found that pain, anxiety, and epinephrine release decreased in the group performing perineal exercises with a ball. \u03b2-endorphin levels also increased significantly in this group after the intervention (P = 0.007).
