FRIDAY, July 25, 2025 (HealthDay News) \u2014 Keurig K-Cups are being recalled nationwide due to a packaging issue that could cause ink to run into the coffee during brewing.<\/p>\n
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a voluntary recall of New Mexico Pi\u00f1on Coffee<\/a>‘s Dark Pinon Single Serve Cups because the seal on the lid of the cups was not applied consistently to all cups in the production run.<\/p>\n “This resulted in the food safe ink printing on some cups to run when exposed to high temperature, high-pressure water used in a K-cup machine,” the FDA<\/a> stated in the recall notice.<\/p>\n So far, Albuquerque-based New Mexico Pi\u00f1on Coffee has not received any reports of illness or injury associated with the recall.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are voluntarily recalling this product out [of] an abundance of caution,\u201d company President Matthew Bregar<\/a> said in a news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n The recalled single-serve cups are packaged in a 10-count box with product number F03308; UPC 812361033081; lot code 251749; and a best-by date of May 8, 2026.<\/p>\n Customers should throw out the affected K-Cups or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.<\/p>\n Those with questions should contact New Mexico Pi\u00f1on Coffee’s customer service line at 505-298-1964.<\/p>\n More information<\/strong><\/p>\n Visit the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for more details on the recalled coffee pods<\/a>.<\/p>\n SOURCES: U.S. Food and Drug Administration, enforcement report, July 15, 2024; New Mexico Pi\u00f1on Coffee, news release, undated<\/p>\n
