FRIDAY, Feb. 14, 2025 (HealthDay News) — Popular cooler brand Igloo has recalled more than 1 million rolling coolers due to serious fingertip injury risk.<\/p>\n
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)<\/a> said the recall affects 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers manufactured before January 2024. The recall was issued Feb. 13.<\/p>\n “The tow handle can pinch consumers\u2019 fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards,” the CPSC warned.<\/p>\n Igloo Products, which makes the cooler, has “received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures and lacerations,” the commission said.<\/p>\n The recalled coolers were sold between January 2019 and January 2025 at major retailers, including Target, Costco and Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods, as well as Amazon and Igloocoolers.com.<\/p>\n They range in price from $80 to $140 and come in various colors.<\/p>\n The manufacture date is printed on the cooler’s bottom in a circular pattern, with the last two digits of the year of manufacture inside the circle.<\/p>\n Igloo Products said<\/a> it is voluntarily recalling the coolers and working with the CPSC to prevent further injuries.<\/p>\n Consumers who own one of these coolers should stop using it immediately and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.<\/p>\n Customers can find more information on Igloo\u2019s website or by calling the company at 888-943-5182 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n More information<\/strong><\/p>\n Read the full recall details at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission<\/a>.<\/p>\n
